Apart from ATX and Bman for testing these setup programs, I'd just like to thank everone else for testing them, of which the grand total is no one!
When the updated version is released you can only blame yourselves, if it doesn't work on your machines!
Thanks for nothing!!

I'll be more than happy to give the new installer the thumbs up when you post it. I'm more than confident it WILL work and am more than grateful for all your hard work. Thanks DS and everyone else who continued to support the lesser systems out there...you didn't have to, but you did anyway. Thanks guys, Bry'n

Hey DS, the WCTv1.4.exe file worked on my PC (XP Pro-Serv. Pack 2 & TIECD). Like you said no \WAVE\ directory was made, but it created the two directories within the main XWA directory: ..\WaveTIECD and \WaveXWA.
Only thing missing were the subdirectories inside the ..\WaveXWA\FrontEnd folder (except for \Medalandpromotion) ....if it's part of the test. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I've got the same problem. My computer's a Pentium III with Windows 2000. The computer recognizes the XWA disk 1 when I put it in, but the TFTC doesn't.

Have you tried these 2 test utilities? ATX, Ok I've had another go at getting this to work, if you can test this for me I would be grateful It will not install anything, all it does if this works, is to detect, each disk then continue to the next disk. It should ask for 1. XWA Disk 1 2. XWA Disk 2 3. TIE Fighter Disk (depending on which you selected) 4. XWA Disk 1 If this works let me know, and I'll make up another version that copy's the files across. WCTv1.3Ok the last test worked with windows 98 thanks to ATX This next test, it will ask you exactly the same thing 1. XWA Disk 1 2. XWA Disk 2 3. TIE Fighter Disk (depending on which you selected) 4. XWA Disk 1 But now when it has finished, take a look in your XWA DIR C:\Program Files\LucasArts\XWingAlliance (By Default) You will should see two new Folders, respective of each disk that has installed wave files. 1. WaveXWA and 2. WaveTIECD or WaveTIE95 depending on which version of the Tie Fighter disk you have. If you look in each of these folder you should see the wave files and other folders, check each folder, they should be full of wave files. If so it worked. Remember this is only a test, all wave files will be included in the correct XWA wave folders once this thing works right You can uninstall this test by clicking on the desktop icon named "Uninstall WCT" Thanks for your paticipation WCTv1.4

Thx Long live the Empire and Emperor's Hammer! You have to wait for a new version which incorporates these test utilities And DON'T mention Emperor's Hammer again in here, I've had dealings with them in the past, and they are and shall forever be a complete bunch of wankers. If you wish to continue using this forum, drop the poxy EH crap!

I agree, WCT v1.4 works on my computer, and I really, really can't wait for the next version of TFTC which incorporates this.
Anyone got an idea of how long it's going to be?
P.S. Many thanks to Darksaber for his help.

You have to wait for a new version which incorporates these test utilities I was wondering... This post is from 2006 and I just downloaded the file today. Im on a win98 PC and it wont recognize Cds neither. So I asume the version I got has not this corrected. I would had liked to test the files, but they are no longer in server... I also detect you (Darksaber) got angry when no one helped you test and gave up on updating... If that is the case, I would like to know so I try finding a Winxp where to play the game, instead of waiting... Well... howwever thanks for your hard work anyway P.D. I live in Mexico, sorry if my english is not that good
