All the mission voices are of the original xwa voices, it appears that none of the tftc mission voices have been installed in the wave folders...
I'm using Windows XP x64 edition so I did have to screw around with installing the game (I had to install on another computer and copy all the files over and then edit the registry so everything would work) but it should be alright. Also using english xwa. System specs are as follows:
AMD 64 3700+ @ 2.6 GHz 1.5 GBs of ram DFI lanparty nF4 UT Ultra D ASUS AX800XL 256MB 1 80GB Maxtor, 1 40GB Maxtor
Also my version of TIE Fighter is the collectors edition CDROM.
edit: err briefing voices play the original xwa ones, mission voices don't show up at all.

This might be a stupid question but are you using the supplied launcher to play the mod?
If not then this is why the voices are not working.
I am betting this has to do with why it doesnt work. The NSIS laungage we used for the installer pulls stuff out of the registry for voice conversions and patch history.
Why wont it install on your orginal system?
I will look into this problem further, might be some thing with Win XP 64....

Yeah, using the tftc launcher to play.
Probably something to do with Win XP 64 yeah. Some older programs can't be installed on x64 without being fiddled around with.

Warhawk, got me thinking... we didn't have time to thoroughly test this, but installer copies All of the original XWA wave files over to the Hard drive. Part of this is unnecessary because for example, and depending upon length of briefing or after successfully completing a mission, you may hear original XWA files that are Not supposed to be there and playing i.e.-- in ...\Frontend\B1m1 folder the files B010105.wav, B010106.wav and N010101.wav are not overwritten with any of the TF coverted files so these anomalies will appear from mission to mission. If you look in these folders, for example, any wave files that have the date 1999 mean they are the original XWA waves, are not needed, and should be deleted. This will be fixed in the near future since it's a simple scripting process within the installer.

It appears that none of the mission wavs have been overwritten...I wonder if you could release just the sound conversion part of the installer seperatly? So I can do it manualy?

Yeap warhawk...
I am probably gonna see if we cant get a separate convertor for the wavs. That way if it doesnt work we have a back up.

Any news on the separate convertor? I tried using the other tie fighter disc but that didn't work either. Probably a problem with x64 indeed. I really want to play the campaign over again, just this time with all the correct voices!

Sorry...everyone's tied down until the semester is over... more time to address all this in the next 3 or 4 weeks.... Someone posted a win X64 related solution on XWAUP site yesterday or day before ?

Hello guys.
First of all I must thank you for this great modification. I spent a lot of time to hunt this rebel scum down and the task seems to be not yet done (hope this is gramatically right).
To my problem:
i have the same bug like warhawk on a win XP Prof. 32bit system. I reinstalled Xw:A several times and so i did with TFTC. Everytime same problem occurs. I tried to install "Dark Sabers Ultimate Craft Pack" (might be a prob with this?) one time before and another after installing TFTC. No way. Xw:A briefing voices and no mission voices. And if I remember right, if a Stardestroyer hypers into the area the sound we all fell in love with should appear, but it doesn't.
to my system:
AMD 64 3000+ @2.4ghz 1.0 gb ram MSI K8N nforce4 SLI Platinum Radeon x850xt 256MB 1 160 GB Samsung SATA; 1 80gb Samsung IDE.
Like warhawk, i've got the tie fighter collectors edition CD-ROM.

Thanks Doc for posting. DS in another thread said that he is working on a fix for international XWA versions. Wondering too if your TF CD (German version) has different directory file structure than the US & UK versions. . . ?
