Redwolf, DS is working on the installer to address international versions since your CD's directory structure (path/filenames etc.) is slightly different than US/UK versions. As for the custom cutscene, your right. The thought was that some people might click through the opening cutscene and miss out on the new one, so it's included twice (as a separate movie). This may be separated out in the next release.

thx for the update! and now a hint; after installing the TFTC and the codex needed, restart the pc cause, if not, the starting cutscene will have audio/video out of sinc and again great job guys!

Yes, I'm making the new TFTC installer so it will not run on Windows XP x64 edition operating systems, sorry but its causing too much hassle.
You see, the installer is guided by the registry settings, it will install if that specific setting is found, otherwise you will have to reinstall XWA, but as Windows XP x64 edition has its 32 bit apps in a different location on Windows XP x64 operating system the installer wont work correctly, I can not script the installer to work with both 32 bit and 64 bit machines, sorry
Plus certain part of the script needs to read the registry, again sorry but there is not way around it, If and when most people around the world upgrade to a x64 bit machine or operating system, then and only then I might think about changing the installer, but by that time, I doubt I'll be interested.

Ok over at XWAUP I ask for someone to try a little app I made for windows XP 64bit edition, but they reported that they haven't had a problem installing the TFTC on a Windows XP 64 bit edition, so I won't be making the next version of TFTC incompatible with it.
But I haven't got a clue why some people haven't a problem installing it and some do

Ok you lot you might want to take a look at this thread over at the XWAUP Forums well the lat few posts anyway Operating System Test . A guy called Admiral Alistair has a Windoes XP x64 bit Operating System and has done a few tests with the TFTC version 1.0 the one you lot have, anyhow all checks out with him, but his operating system langauge is in English, he has the English/US versions of TIE95 and XWA and every thing installs ok on his machine. So What I need you lot to do is to state what Langauge your operating system is running under and what langauge you TIE fighter and XWA Disks are For example Operating System Language = .............. XWA Language = ............... Which version or TIE Fighter you using (either X-Wing Collectors Series Disk2 (TIE95) or TIE Fighter Collectors Edition (TIECD)? Either TIE95 or TIECD = ............... And which Langauge theTIE Fighter Disks are in = ............. I also have another request for you lot I have a Test Wave Copier, simular to the one in TFTC v1.0, but I have altered it to hopefully work correctly and I need you to test it for me to see if it copies all the XWA wave files and TIE fighter wave files over to the XWA Wave directory. First install a fresh copy of XWA apply the 2.02 patch (DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING ELSE), then use this wave copier to copy all the files from disks, then report back with your results please. Updated TFTC Wav Copier Tester BelowJust to note that this isn't a fix for TFTC v1.0 its just a test that if work will be implimented into the next version of TFTC. (DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THIS TESTER)If this doesn't work then all I can think of to blame it on is your Operating System Langauge

I just had an idea, I could try installing everything on my old 32-bit xp windows machine and then copy all the installed files onto my 64 machine and run the game off the exe, that should work. in the meantime i'll try that tester program.

Oh, thanks for all the testing guys, I work away for a couple of days thinking I might have some results when I get back, but no,
Jezz why the hell do I bother, I PM all the people that replied to this thread as some of them don't like to have the email addresses made public, asking them to test a small app, but no one can be bothered.
Thanks for wasting my time guys
I had better point out that I'm not getting at Linx Ol or bman but the people that posted about this problem

DS, I tested and it works fine on my PC for most part. Here's a list of things I came up with. It's probably over kill but hope this is helps... Thanks.
...\Wave\Frontend\b0m2\ empty ...\Wave\Frontend\b0m8\ empty ...\Wave\Frontend\b0m9\ empty ...\Wave\Frontend\b1m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b2m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b3m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b4m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b5m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b5m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b6m5\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b6m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Frontend\b6m7\ empty Ok not needed.
Noticed the files in ...\Wave\Frontend\b0m6\ and ...\Wave\Frontend\b0m7\ are currently reversed. The "FRG Implacable mission" came after the "destroy a rebel probe mission". Doesn't really matter, but the mission files may need to be renamed and switch the DAT files and *.lst files etc. to match.
In each of the ...\Wave\Missionvoice\B*M*\ directories the default XWA radio wave files M*.wav and R*.wav are copied over, but aren't needed.
...\Wave\Missionvoice\b0m2\ empty
Noticed the files in ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b0m6\ and ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b0m7\ are currently reversed. See notes above.
...\Wave\Missionvoice\b0m8\ empty ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b0m9\ empty ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b1m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b2m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b3m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b4m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b5m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b5m7\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b6m5\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b6m6\ empty Ok not needed. ...\Wave\Missionvoice\b6m7\ empty Ok not needed.
As for the rest of the fans out there (including international) please use the tester and post feedback here. DS has taken his time out of his busy schedule and is going out of his way to help find a solution to this project. If you want continued support, please help so this can be made better. If you're concerned about losing your custom opts, please make a backup of your xwingalliance directory and rename it, before you reinstall a fresh copy. Thanks!

Bman, I've figured out what your talking about, right, this test does not included the changes you made to the training missions, so ignore b0m6 and b0m7 for the moment, they're will be wrong anyhow. Plus with this test in TFTC v1 the training missions are not included even though the wav files are copied over. Plus even though some of the XWA wav files aren't needed it was easier to copy all of them over than just to figure out which might be used by the some of the missions. If any? Edit: Of course some are thats why I added them DOH!! Edit 2: OK Bman fixed the waves, don't worry about the empty folders, if any now plus there still might be a few wav files missing due to the ones you altered, not being included. Here is the TFTC Wav Copier Tester

I've used the tester and in the ..\Wave\Frontend\b0m*\ are all empty but b5m7 folder (xwa 1999 files) and medalandpromotion folder (xwa 1999 files). All the folders have the actual date but those 2 folders indicated before plus the b7m5 folder which had the installation date of TFTC (10-12-2005).
