First, thank you for make this game. It's an incredible thing to play TF with XWA engine ! Once again, thank you very much.
I just want to know if the project is still alive, for the 8 to 13 missions ? Please, answer "yes" ;D

sweeeeeeeeet, I'd just got the craving to play TIE Fighter again, but after the hassle of getting it to work under XP (yes, I did the whole dosbox and vdmsound bit) I started playing XW:A again, looking for patches and updates.
You can't believe the joy I felt when I saw this site, the TFTC file is still downloading, but I'm happy already.
Anyways, I do hope you get those extra battles done too, I especially liked the mission where you're betrayed in the minefield in the T/I, but maybe that's in the first 7 battles, I don't know... ah, the file has finished downloading!

Bump !
I am absolutely delighted to play good old Tie Fighter with all the great XW:A upgraded OPTs. Although there are a few balance issues due to the gameplay gap between the two games (I sometimes get stuck on missions and have to play them on easy), it is an excellent conversion altogether, integrating the voiced briefings I never heard before and all. I owned the floppy disk version back then and never played battles 8 through 13.
So, thank you very very much for all your work and dedication, but I can't help to ask what upsets all modders : WHEN will the expansion battles be released ? What's your current progress status on this ?

No date yet. The XWAUP opt models need to be done before this can continue, since they change how craft behave somewhat in any given mission file. i.e. ISD 2, modified Neb. B-2 Frigate, Super Star Destroyer, and XQ Platform bases etc.

Just wanted to say "excellent work!" and "keep it up!" You guys bring Tie Fighter to a new generation of gamers, and that in itself ensures you a place in heaven, I'm sure!

Thanks, but nope. There's only one person who can ensure me a place in heaven, and he even walked on water, and rose from the grave 2000 years ago.

Anyone interested you can download the full version of Allied from DS website and convert missions yourself. It takes me approx. 5 minutes to convert one mission, no WAV links but at this stage (just do a save as, use proper file convention and put a # in the briefing notes so you can see commander briefing). So far playing quite well. Make sure to download craft from XWA upgrade site inc Missile boat. JP

I've already converted 3 missions and added them to xwa myself yesterday. Because I'm not very familar with the editor and I'm lazy, I've improvised.

I have converted and played all of them. Had to take out the Advanced missiles and changed to standard concussion on the opposition but. Also adjusted the AI on some enemy capital ships. Changed Top Ace also to Ace on fighters. It's just a matter of trying to balance. Had also some glitches I had to try and sort out on some misisons.

How exactly do you get the TIE mission files into AlliED? I tried earlier, but I couldn't do it. Is there anything extra you need to do after you get it converted into AlliED?

Download Allied at www.darksaber.gaylenol.com/filemissed.html . Copy tie files from Tie CD to a folder on c drive. Open with Allied and save as to Missions folder in XWA. Modify Mission.lst file as well and change mission to best balance.

Lots of tftc missions was set "read only" property, all you have to do it un-check read only tag, then you can edit it via AlliED.
I finished conversion for all 8-13 (and training) missions, all misson voices linked plus briefing voices. It's a tedious process, took me whole week. So missions need to fine tune, I'm now testing on B5M6. I can upload eveything I done if somone can give me a place to upload.
